I'm thinking of upgrading from my platinums to a set of A/C/Cs and to save a few ££'s I want to buy the components online and make them myself. As I've not done this before is there anybody in the club that's willing to offer their time, expertise and equipment to help me out? There might be a couple of pint's in it for you. Am I right in thinking that if I order shafts from the same group as my current arrows on the table linked below then they'll be matched to my bow? eg I've got 1916s so need 3-04s. www.merlinarcherycentre.co.uk/eastontargetchart1.pdfThanks Craig

yes in theory if your platinums were correctly selected from the chart the first time then in theory the ACC's will match however i will warn that the easton chart has its flaws and there is no way to know for sure if the arrows will be correct. My arrows were to stiff so i had to get heavier points to correct the issue and my girlfriends arrows are so stiff we have got to buy new, these were all selected from the chart. To my knowledge there is no choice but to follow the chart until you learn what works for you. some people say select a spine down form what the chart recommends. I would suggest you ask around the club and see what others have experienced. Maybe find some one with he same length arrows and draw weight as you and see what they are shooting

I used platinum 1916s and transfered to ACC 3L-18/620 (group T6 on the chart). My draw is 30.5" at 35# and if you look at the chart, I'm on max weight for that draw length, and they're still a bit stiff but with tuning are OK.
You might find that if you are very close to being in the group below, buying a slightly floppier (is that the right word? no...) arrows might be better, but if you are in the middle to top of the group they should be OK with heavier points or just normal ones
You might want to get a couple of different weight points to try before you buy a whole set of points, make a couple of arrows and try them out. Then buy a complete set of the points that work best.
Having said that, when I did it I just guessed and it worked OK!
